Swedish Timber Houses

Has anyone here had any experience in obtaining a mortgage on a timber framed and clad property built from Swedish timber of post war age?

I have a meeting with a broker next monday to discuss my options and one of the properties id like to consider is of this style.

I hope you have advised the broker of this in advance. Otherwise you are likely to catch them cold.

  • Im just meeting up for a chat to explore my options. the property in question is desirable for us as its 2 mins from my current house meaning no issues with schools and such like and is in a desirable quite area.

My option at present is possibly buy said house at a reduced price due to construction type or buy present property im renting of my landlord at valuation price which needs more money thrown at it to upgrade the property.

I guess I could sit things out and rent a bit longer but im keen as mustard to get on the property ladder and have a feeling my landlord might be getting itchy to sell up.

You may be able to get your landlord to sell to you below value effectively increasing your deposit and improving your mortgage rate.
