That should be all you hear now until around 24-48 hours after the valuation is returned. Find out from the agents when its booked for, give it 2-3 working days after that and you should have heard by then.

03.02 - broker says he has 'green light' from the lender to ask for payment details for application fee and valuation.
04.02 - I see application fee and valuation paid to VM
    05.02 - e-mailed broker for update...

    Happy days!
  • Would anyone know how long to expect until the exchange?
I have given my solicitor green light today to kick off the searches etc.
Solicitor e-mailed forms with building information to seller 2 weeks back.

  • Hi,
I'm currently in the process of remortgaging with Virgin (we were previously with virgin, so we are existing customers). We were looking to borrow extra which would take us up to 80% LTV. We passed their affordability calculator and the credit check but the case was referred to the underwriter at this stage because I had given a higher value of our our house (based on an average of 3 estate agents valuations) compared to the valuation on their system. The underwriter came back and said the lending amount was approved subject to the higher valuation. I have now submitted documents and the valuation is booked in.
To anyone with knowledge does this sound like if the valuation comes back ok the mortgage will formally be offered, no problem?
So far everything has been really smooth, I suppose i'm just looking for reassurance as I find this a really anxiety provoking time.
