Strawberry and Chocolate Cheesecake

Every other weekend, me and my daughters make a cake of some sorts (only rule is that it has to include some kind of fruit or veg) and this week is cheesecake.
It says to mix some ingredients really well. This includes the tub of cream cheese. Can I use a hand whisk for this or a wooden spoon. The idea of whisking cream cheese just makes it sound like it's going to curdle or something to me! But then I'm not the best baker in the world!

I would let the cream cheese come to room temperature then beat it with a wooden spoon, it will soon soften.0
