Ouch!

Well I have just signed up for MoneyDashboard which not only got me £7.50 Quidco cashback but supported all my accounts which is great news!

The not so great news is now I can see I stand at minus £17k!! :(

Talk about coming down to earth with a bump! Now its time to see if I can find a way of clearing that and work out how long it will take to clear

If anyone hasnt used a single money dashboard yet I would recommend it, the pain I am hoping will be worth it in the long run... talk about a shock

Is it worth using if you have all your accounts with the same bank?
At least you know where you stand now that is actually a step forward

To help you on your way, this linkey might be of interest : http://www.vertex42.com/Calculators/debt-calculators.html

I use MoneyDashboard but only as a high-level overview type thing. I find that it just isnt precise enough for the kind of accounting I want to do (which requires precision). It's nice to see some pretty graphs, but if you want to get right down to brass tacks, then MD just isnt good enough. See my signature for another tool to use in this case.

You can of course do largely the same thing with a combination of some of those templates on the Vertex42 site, have an explore and see what takes your fancy.

You will however need a ruthlessly honest budget going forwards and that will take some time and effort to compile. You had probably best start with printouts from the last 6 months of banking and just set to with a highlighter to figure out what you spent where. That gives you a baseline to work from and then you can start building your budget from there.
