Can anyone help with the question: s whether is it still worthwhile to contribute to teachers pension in further employment after retirement or is it best to opt out in view of recent changes in the TP scheme?
Thanks in advance.

In light of what exactly? Speaking generally, over time it is getting easier to accrue multiple pensions, not harder (e.g., abatement won't exist for CARE scheme membership, not that this will help FS scheme retirees).0 -

Despite the increase in contribution rate it still remains a very good scheme to be in.0 -

The TPS is changing from unbelievably fantastic value to almost unbelievable fantastic value. I challenge you to come back with a currently available better investment open to you, I am confident that you will not be able to do this.Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -

In your other thread you talked of a TPS short service annuity specifically. If the question is whether it is worth your husband still contributing to get one of those or not, then on the face of it, higher contributions are a good thing since it's a form of DC not DB arrangement. In other words: unlike your husband's main benefits in the scheme, the extra pension earned will directly relate to the contributions actually paid.0
