Hi all.
A friend of mine used to be a miner over 25 years ago and believes that he can draw 100% of his pension when he turns 50 this year. Please can I ask if this is true?

Seems to be the members' "Bible".
A deferred member of the scheme?
"Early retirement choices
Benefits can be taken before age 60, at
a reduced rate. For the majority of MPS
members, the earliest age at which
reduced benefits can be taken is age 50.
However, during 2010, the earliest age
at which reduced benefits in most UK
pension schemes can be taken will
increase from age 50 to age 55.
In the MPS, where members had an
unconditional right to a reduced pension
at 50, they will retain that right."0
