Blog prize not arrived - advice please?

Hi all

I won a blog comp back in October for some nice beauty goodies. Had a few emails back and forth since, one just before xmas where she apologised that she was busy and said she would add to it and make it a little christmas hamper thing. I've been super nice and patient with the lady over xmas, and left it until now to give her a little more time. However i've gone to chase it up today and the email won't send, leading me to think she may have blocked me. I tweeted her but she hasn't posted anything there since before xmas, and no posts on her blog. I feel a bit mean reporting her, plus don't want to get myself blocked from other blogs because of it. Any advice?

Whats the blog address? If they're not honouring prizes then they don't deserve us following their blog through various social media...which in turn will effect the amount of opportunities they are offered as a blogger.

Is it a prize directly from them or are they liaising with a PR agency?

I would try again with all their social media accounts, they should be listed on their site.
Leave a few blog comments.
Send them an email saying you will report them, check to see if they are providing the prize or if it is a PR agency.
If they still don't reply then definitely report them..

Have they published new posts on their blog? If so they're still active. If not, they might have stopped blogging which will make it harder to contact them but they still owe you the prize you have won.


Which blog is it? Just wondering.. I'm a blogger.

I've just tried the email again this morning and it seems to have gone through. I'll give her till Monday then take it from there.

Nothing has been posted on any of the social media sites since November (only Twitter and Bloglovin' as far as I can see) or on the blog. Hopefully I will get a response.

Thanks for the replies. I don't want to post the blog name really if there is a genuine reason for the delay (maybe I'm too nice, but i've been waiting almost 4 months!) but if I don't get an answer i'll post back here! I don't want to put myself in the bad books with bloggers because they seem to be the comps I win most from!

I doubt it would put you in the bad books with other bloggers. From what you have said you have been patient and polite. There are bloggers who actively campaign for bloggers to run fair comps as a blog that runs a comp and doesn't fulfil the prize gives a negative opinion of blogs on a whole

I wasn't asking so that we can bad mouth them, like I say I'm a blogger too, so the blogger "community" might be able to track them down.. they might have started a new blog or have a different twitter account.

She's still pointing people towards her blog. Perhaps you could express your disappointment in the Comments of the final blog entry.

Thanks lilias I will try that too. When you say she's pointing people to her blog what do you mean? I couldn't find any activity on any of her social media.

I have just checked and I agree with robbiesgal - sad to say but looks like she might have decided to keep the prize for herself and done a runner! :eek: I would contact the ASA for advice.Good luck
