Are jars always a bad option?

I've been wondering lately about why jars are so vilified. I have found that some are cheaper than cooking from scratch. So in fact it seems silly to not buy them? what do you think?

It all depends on the person/family.

I prefer to know what goes into our food, so cook most of our meals from scratch. But maybe once a week, or once a fortnight, I'll get a jar of korma and some nann bread and have a night off cooking.
