Hubby has finally got his credit report and on one of his accounts the default date is wrong.......
In 2010 he went car shopping was persuaded to by a £10k car......silly boys and there toys realised he couldn't afford it and never paid a penny towards it which shows up on the report, he handed the car back and the finance company claimed they sold the car at auction for £1800 hubby asked for proof but got nowhere
Is it true that the default date should be up to 6 months of non payment??? If so in this case a default hasn't been put on his account til 2 years later.....can they do this??? We've still no proof what the car sold for but I don't think any company would be willing to let a £10k car only go for £1800
Thanks in advance x

Car finance may be a bit different, not sure, but 2 years is too long.
Complain, in writing about the date and the fact they have provided the reasonable evidence requested.
See what they say.:beer:0 -
I think they've held onto the finance then sold it to a debt collection company who maybe the actual ones who defaulted the account x
How do you find out who it is that has actually defaulted you xNEXT TARGET: Halifax credit card DEC 22 £0 / £4499.12POAMAYC 2011 £6378.35 POAMAYC 2012 £5000.78POAMAYC 2013 £3480.04 POAMAYC 2014 £4085.14POAMAYC 2015 £7565.24 POAMAYC 2016 £8000.90 POAMAYC 2017 £7278.80 POAMAYC 2018 £13208.18POAMAYC 2019 £13309.28 POAMAYC 2020 £15026.050 -
It should be logged on his credit report. The last people to update it.
If it's sold, you normally get a notice of assignment letter.:beer:0
