Single application mortgage??

Looking for some advice if possible?

I am married and my wife and I have been saving for some time and have so far reached £8.5k. Our dream house has come up at £172k so we could, in theory use HTB and have enough deposit.

We have both for several years subscribed to "credit expert" and have found our files all in order but with low ratings!! We have credit we operate properly, paid on time etc.

Tonight we looked at equifax and found linked address information inaccuracies and a default in my wife's name!!

So my question is...could we proceed to apply for a mortgage in my name alone or should we wait until the default drops off in a mighty 2yrs time?

Your wife will impact on your application in some form whether she's named or not. So best to resolve any issues prior to making an application.
