Original documents as proof - help.

Hi,

Broker submitted mortgage application on Friday and Nationwide have requested for my partner and I to supply either an original bank statement, credit card statement or utility bill within the last 3 months as proof of address.

Being first time buyers we don't have "utility bill" statements. I am lucky as I do have a credit card statement which is sent to me every month which is accepted. My partner however, all his bank statements, phone bill statements are "online" statements so he never actually gets them through the post.

Does anyone know what other means of documentation we could provide?!

Thanks,

Usually an internet printed bank statement will suffice as long as it is EXACTLY the same as a similar posted statement.ie: Must have name, address, sort code and account number on it. No "mini" "at a glance" "summary" type statements.

With most banks you should be able to download a PDF.

If they wont accept this then you'll just have to get a statement posted to you.

Tell him to look for 'My Statements' on his online bank account - you can usually print from here. My bank doesn't have a pdf version but the slightly rough version I printed off for my evidence was accepted by the bank. As LeonW says, just make sure it has name, account number, sort code and the list of transactions on it.

    So there you go fioney25

Looks like you can't use an internet statement so you'll have to get some posted.

You could use a full drivers license though if you haven't already used that for ID.
