Creation Finance debited money from me after closing account
I purchased a television from Currys over a year ago, a few weeks back, £212 was owed on the store credit account, rather than pay this monthly, I decided to pay it off in full, and have it done with as I no longer wish to be in credit with any companies.
Following my payment, I received an email confirming a payment had been made; but it did not indicate that the payment was full, or that my account was closed. I have not received any correspondence by mail, apart from statements, the last one being received at least a few months back. When I log into my creation account and try to access the agreement, I am unable to, I am redirected to an error page, but in my account overview screen (where all of my agreements are shown), the account still shows as current.
2 days after making the full payment, Creation then debited my bank account for the monthly installment (approximately £28)
I emailed Creation as soon as I found out (Thursday), and they promise on their website to respond to all emails within 24 hours, there is no mention of working days, etc. I am still to hear from them.
I will call them tomorrow, but I'm not sure I have any proof that the payment was made in full.
Can anyone offer any advice?
I would not recommend that anyone uses Creation; ever.

Would have been better waiting until that payment came off, then making a payment for (x - 28)."Facism arrives as your friend. How did you make the payment? A bank transfer, or a card payment online / over the phone?"Facism arrives as your friend. The payment was made by Visa debit card.
In regards to making the payment 2 days before the DD came out, I understand that they have to process sometimes.0 -
It's not that they have to process 'sometimes', it's that they have to process all the time.
Sounds very much like you've made a payment when the DD was already 'queued' in their system. Wait until they e-mail back, or try phoning them tomorrow."Facism arrives as your friend. Also: is this your only negative experience with this company?
If so, it's a bit unfair to recommend to everyone not to use them based on this, which isn't their fault."Facism arrives as your friend. I emailed them once in the past, but never received a reply, so I'm concerned that this will happen again. Going to call them tomorrow afternoon.
I didn't realize that the DD was actually due, as far as I was aware, it was just over a week until it went out.
I'm mostly disappointed that I didn't receive confirmation that the account is no longer in arrears & closed.0 -
If it was in arrears (you didn't mention that before), is it possible it won't be closed? We're there any charges or anything like that?"Facism arrives as your friend. If you were paying off in full, why didn't you cancel the Direct Debit? It's the first thing I do when I finish with any company."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0
