Working as a cabbie - advice please

Hi - for some mulling over working as a mini cab driver.


For background im in late 40's, work full time in an office job I don't particularly enjoy, being my own boss seems appealing. I would be quite happy with 3k a month after expenses, 2k a month would be ok, less would be a struggle..


Any thoughts on from people on what cab life is like, how easy it is to find work, what kind of hours are involved, or anything else would be most welcome.
