Mortgage Arrears - Field Agent

I'm a little confused. On Tuesday I received a letter from my mortgage lender about being in arrears £265. My current monthly payment is £380. However, I contacted the lenders on Wednesday informing them that I would be paying an additional £100 until the arrears was cleared and that I did not need an Agent to visit me.
I have just got home and low and behold a hand delivered letter had been pushed through my door.
Now this seem not only stupid but I assume that the Mortgage lenders are going to charge me for something I phone to tell them I did not need.
Am I entitled to tell the lenders they have no right to charge me for an unneccessart visit?
Many thanks
Ama

You are in mortgage arrears. So the lender is within their rights under the terms and conditions of the contract to take whatever action they wish. The matter is now outside of your control.0

Maybe the lender hadn't had a chance to tell the field agent that you had made a payment arrangement?
Perhaps you could ask them nicely to waive the fee?
That would have more chance of success than 'telling the lender they have no right' to send the field agent round.Early retired - 18th December 2014
