Suitable ID for mortgage application

This is a quick overview of my current situation. I have applied for a mortgage through a mortgage advisor and my original completion date on my house was 30th January (which I have obviously missed).
I am having problems proving my identity - I do not drive so do not have a driving licence (although am applying for a provisional encase I have to resort to it) or a current passport as never renewed it. I submitted my birth certificate and, on the advice of my mortgage advisor, a Revenue and Customs tax coding letter for this year but this was rejected as it has my old address on it (only moved here 5 months ago). I have phoned to get a coding letter to my current address but one has already not turned up (originally phoned 20th January and again today) so was wondering if there was anything else I could use as ID as do not want to hold up the process any longer than I have to.

HTF did your broker let it get to this stage to address ID issues ?
Which lender (some - not many - will rely on electronic ID - has your broker obtained electronic ID / Anti Money Laundering pass for you ?If not, how on earth is he satisfying his own compliance requirements) ?
Are you on the voters role ?
Your intended provisional licence will bring nothing to the party - an 'emergency passport renewal' would seem to have been the best route !Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
The broker never mentioned anything when I submitted the Revenues and Customs form as my old address (all my bank statements are my old address to). It is only now that they have rejected the letter that it has been brought up as if asked for at the time (he had the documents before Christmas) then I could have had an up to date one with my current address requested ages ago. He did say that if I could not get a new Revenues and Customs letter then it would probably have to be a passport application. It would have to be a full application as it is years out of date and I do not really want to wait that long. As for an electronic ID / Anti Money Laundering pass I have no idea what he has done. I know my solicitor excepted my birth certificate and council tax statement for my ID/address but not sure if financial advisors would need any more than this.
Would they not accept a provisional driving licence then as I was led to believe that they would? The application is with the Newcastle Building Society. I am a registered voter and have a letter (to my current address) from them confirming my registration would this be any good or not?0 -

What about the lender?
As I said in my reply it is the Newcastle Building Society0 -
Sorry missed that ... we don't do much with them, seem to recall they are reasonably flexible/approachable (but they certainly do appear to require paper ID process rather than 'e').
I still think an 'emergency passport issue' is probably quickest solution.
Might still be worth get your broker to see if they will accept e-identity such as the 'touchstone/equifax' or 'creditsafe' options - these technically comply with all the AML stuff, but it is up to each lender/solicitor/broker to set their own compliance requirements as to what is acceptable.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. OK Thanks - I am hoping that I will get the letter through from Revenue and Customs in the next few days as phoned them again today so if I receive this I assume they will accept it as it was only refused because of the address. If not I will definitely get my advisor to look into things further.0
