State Pension - Self Assessment Amount Wrong?

Just about to file a simple self assessment form.
However I doubled checked the auto filled State Pension box. HMRC state that the information/amount in this box is given to them by the DWP. I had assumed thus far that it would be correct.
However, if I add up my monthly pension amounts crediting my bank account for the 13/14 tax year, it is less than the figure they quote.
Would there be a reason for this?
If I say the figure is wrong, they ask for a reason why it would be wrong.
Why would it be wrong?
Any ideas?

Is the state pension paid every four weeks? If so there would be 13 payments and perhaps you missed one?
If you are certain that the amount quoted is wrong then change it and put a note detailing the payments you have received as a 'white box' entry.
Be quick - you have a little over seven hours to file!'I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my father. Not screaming and terrified like his passengers.' (Bob Monkhouse).

Yes, state pension is paid every four weeks.....make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
The auto-completed amount is what you are due in that tax year. The payments into your bank may include one that bridges the start/end of the tax year, so there may be some weeks at the old amount and some at the new.Who having known the diamond will concern himself with glass?

You were all correct!
I did not get a statment this year so did not have a figure to hand. Indeed, I was only counting 12 payments. Hence the confusion.
Many Thanks0 -
You would certainly have been sent a statement, if you hadn't received it you should have contacted DWP for a replacement. I think they are sent out around February/March time for the next year (working from memory of the date on my Mum's).0
