  • Hi! Just saw this thread and thought I'd put in some input. I have been a member of Biotrax for over 6 months and its good way to earn extra money. I have been given all the links/ info to mystery shopping companies/ focus groups etc - apart from many medical trials links etc.
I work , but I have enjoyed doing a few of those above in my spare time. The other week I went to a local restaurant and got pd to eat/ drink - all in all £26 for going to a restaurant and being able to criticise it/ make statements and make money ( not bad ay! ). As a member I can link to various different ones. Things are different every week ( if you really search and utilise all thats there) - such as mystery shopping, where you can find assignments in your area, and if you are prepared to travel also. So in my experience,so far, the choice has been good and its all there if you really go for it.

i did one ashtma one last summer (not through Biotrax, found out about it on studentsummerjobs.com!!), met someone there who reccomended Biotrax, good money, considering i didn't have to do anything (except risk my life on untested drugs!!)

wanted to do it again but couldn't find the heart lung centre off Harley Street on the internet anymore
  • Yep ,

Their not doing any asthma studies for a while we were told . We did recruit studies for them when they had studies which is why you would have met BioTrax volunteers on the study. Good to here our members speak highly about us anyway . I think we offer to much support really for people to ever complain although theres always one isn't there. Usually compitition the IP addresses suggest.
  • Heres a Few great stuides but they do change regularily

You'd think BioTrax would have made more effort with his spelling and grammar, wouldn't you?
  • We usually do spell checks but this forums dosent have one and you cant edit posts either . Anyway the content is correct which is the main thing
  • I recently received a link to a company called Biotrax from Fish4jobs. They promised all kinds of great opportunities in the interest of various research. So, I filled in the form and guess what? They want money from me before I'm put on any kind of list. Why? Why not deduct the £25 from my first assignment? So I quit the application and guess what? An email:

Now I might be stupid, but I couldn't see ANY way of getting on their "list" without forking out cash first. This stinks of scam, and I was stung 2 years ago by a company called Logistic Link in the very same way. My advice to anyone is avoid Biotrax. Avoid all companies who want money up front, 'cause if they are so successful they shouldn't need it. In other words, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
  • Errrrrr...........
I received a 'phone call today at 15:30 from a research centre in Leeds. The guy asks me if I am game for medical research and was I prepared to answer a few more questions.First thing I asked him was:

"Are you going to ask me for money at the end of this call?"
    "Oh no mate.We pay YOU."

He told me I would receive £1300 odd for 9 days "work", split into 3 day shifts over the month of October. I'd have to go for a medical on 5th Sept, and if all was well I would be selected. Now Leeds is a 3 day camel ride from here, but for THAT money.........
    The conversation went on.....

"So how come Biotrax wanted money from me?"
"We're nothing to do with Biotrax, we use them for volunteers. I think if you subscribe to them you open yourself up to more than medical research,
ie,mystery shoppers, restaurant 'critics', more local stuff etc."

I gave them my NI number and my GP's practice. My woman wants to pay the £25 to Biotrax now, but I'm still cautious. I intend to be there in Leeds in 3 weeks. For anyone interested I'll keep you posted via this thread.

i would be very wary of gibving any personal information like bank details, national insurance number , etc to any company that rang up out fo the blue

going back to the original thread, before pursuing medical research i would recommend throughly invetsigating the company in question etc , do they have ample liabilty insurance.

you are awar of those people who did that medical trail for drugs etc and ended up with having their toes amputated and other stuff when the drugs had an adverse effect on them.

it would appear now that the company has gone bust and these people will be serevrly out of pocket for the rest of the life due to the company not having enough medical insurance -
  • Im sick to death of searching Job vacancy sites and finding BioTrax has spammed the listings !!

Its not on and not fair to those just wanting to look for a normal job !!
