New 3ds?

Options
Hi
I'm rubbish at decisions so thought I get some thoughts from people on here :)
I have a yoshi special ed 3ds Xl as I love yoshi 😎 I also love pikachu and am torn between trading in my 3ds for the new 3ds and getting a yoshi face plate for it,or getting a 2nd hand pikachu special ed 3ds from a friend. Either way I'd prob have to trade in my yoshi one. Help please

I'm in a similar situation...... Got an xl and just love the idea of face plates...screen will be smaller on the new 3ds. Plus it's only that one and not the xl that you can change the plates.
Would you make use of the other new 3ds features?
For me it's screen size I'm not sure on.
    Not much help sorry!

Also if you need to trade in yours make sure they allow you to do the system transfer in shop...otherwise you would loose data.

Depends on your retailer, my nephew is trading his in at Game, way they are dealing with it is you pay the full whack of the console up front & take it home to perform the system transfer. You then have 7 days to return with your old 3DS console where they'll "refund" you the trade in price - suppose that's the benefit of going to a specialist, they understand the transfer issue.

As for the two machines, personally I'd rather have the standard 3DS for the faceplates, bit perplexed as to why Nintendo didn't use faceplates on both, but well, they stopped following logic years ago. Also I'd recommend getting hold of a charger, eejits haven't included one in the box again and that means there'll be a supply & demand issue.

I've had a shot of one in my local Game, it's cool but it's still a 3DS - I turn the 3D on and I'm ready for a boke poke!

I went for the larger screen over the face-plates as I had the original 3DS I saw more benefit in the larger screen. The new face tracking to adjust the 3D is a big improvement over the old 3D. I have found I use the 3D feature a lot more now where with my old 3DS I just switched it off due to blurring.

Launch day is here...what did you decide to do Rossireps?
  • I'm seriously considering getting one of these.

I haven't owned a Nintendo machine since the N64 and I miss playing the Zelda games (Majora's Mask aside which I didn't care for) and obviously Mario Kart.
