Missed Payments from 2010

Hi, looking for some further advice,

I have received my GFs credit report from Equifax and it shows 3 missed payments from Oct. Nov and Dec 2010.

This was for a New Look store card (which had a balance of £20), which she forgot to pay off. As she was living at a different address to the one the card was registered, she did not know the payments were rolling over month to month.

So now, 4 years later, they are appearing on her credit file.

We have spoken to a Mortgage Advisor and he has said that he thinks these missed payments will stop us from getting a Mortgage from the main lenders - and would stop us from being able to get a Mortgage using the Help to Buy scheme for new builds.

I have read threads on here from people with much worse credit histories being offered Mortgages (I know everyone's circumstances are different) - does the advice from the Mortgage Advisor sound right?

Gutted doesn't come close to how we are feeling right now.

Keep going, you will get there!

First, on which versions of her credit file do these appear?

If you've only got one, get the others.

The person you've spoken to is a clown. Some lenders will be closed to you, but if that's the only problem, I can think of at least three lenders who will do this, more if the other versions of the credit file are clean.

Done a lot worse than this on HTB - EL in several occasions. Get a newbuild specialist broker.

    You think that?

You'll do it perhaps three or four times in your life and I've been doing it for a living for thirty years and I'm still here...!

    ;)

    We will survive,

I've drafted a letter for a goodwill gesture asking to remove one (or more if possible) of the late payments from 2010, it's worth a shot.
