Some advice/ help on how I could obtain a mortgage please ?

Hi ...

I was wondering if anybody could give me some sound advice on how I may obtain a mortgage in my current situation?

Firstly let me inform you of my past history...

I was in the past a self employed construction worker running my own company from 2000-2009. During 2007-2009 my business began to decline due to the recession, and consequently I was left with no other option but to volunteer and declare myself as bankrupt in august 2009 for the sum of around 70k.

Since 2006 I had qualified as a commercial diver and now have worked very hard to become a saturation diver in 20011, earning a very good income , however this also came at a price investing around 60k into my career over several years.

I am now fortunate enough to have a steady income from saturation diving and would to obtain some advice on how I could possibly obtain a mortgage ?

I am self employed on a regular basis by two companies whom give me wage slips after each trip. I am married and my partner has our current mortgage in her name. However she has since given up work and now we wish to consider moving but it would look like we are stuck due to me obtaining a mortgage.

I have numerous years of accounts compiled by my accountant and dont owe any money at all to anyone, bank , credit cards, nothing.

Any help and advice would be appreciated ...

Kind Regards -

Typically, a lender will take the average of the last two years net profits from your HMRC SA302s.

This seems too simple an answer to what you obviously believe is a problem, so is there more to the story, such as non-sterling income or non-UK taxpayer?
