OP, try changing your day around a little, instead of going to bed so early go visit Dad then, when you get up have breakfast then go to work. It's easy after a while. Wetherspoons are open too for nightworkers

Would it be an option to move your Dad to be nearer to you?

Instead of going to Dads then back home , get changed then go to work, could you go to Dads then go straight to work ? Even if it saves you 30mins it 's more time to spend with Dad.

I'd be worried that as the old day shift job is now filled they won't have another job for you.

Good luck and best wishes to your Dad.

We have applications into the local authority and a private agency for very Sheltered accommodation which he has been approved for. We just have to wait for a place to open up, It may be the one nearby us but it may be 16 miles away. His condition dictates that we need to take the first place that comes up and that he likes.

    Thanks.

As luck may have it I have just been told that someone on days has just been fired so I am going to talk to the boss later about it.

One person's misfortune may be my lucky break.

Things are looking more positive this morning, I hope everything works out well for you all. Good luck.
