Increase in credit card limit - affect on mortgage?

Hi everyone,

I recently applied for a mortgage for a new build house and it was approved in December. The house is due to be ready between April and June, so it's just a waiting game now.

However, I came home today to a letter from RBS saying that as a valued customer, they are increasing the limit on my credit card (unused) from £2300 to £3050. I don't have to do anything, it will just increase on 26th February.

My question is, will this have an adverse affect on my mortgage application? I know I shouldn't apply for any extra credit, particularly since my offer may expire before the entry date, but does this count as an application?

Thanks!

I was in the exact same situation a few days ago!

I just called RBS and refused the increase with no problem.
