My son is working for a bar in North London full time (one of the big chains) he is 21 and only being paid £4.90ph is this legal?

NMW is £4.45 per hour for 18-21 year olds. £5.35 for those 22 and over. It is next due to rise on 1 October.

For employees aged up to and including 21 minimum wage is £4.45 so yes it is legal.
Aged 22 and over it is £5.35
