ok, so here it is, my lightbulb moment!!!!
have a ton of debt, will assess that over the next week as i have a week of work, even only working part time, its amazing how much extra time having a week off allows, especially without having to organise child care!!!
mostly, this is for me, so no worries if you get bored or dont want to comment, this is going to be an ongoing thing for me to keep myself on track, and in the right direction.
i have read threads on this site for a good few years, my old account started in 2010, however, i have deleted that account and plan to start afresh.
we really need some kind of emergeny savings - whenever something breaks it is straight to a catalogue/credit account to get a new one, then a cycle of more borrowing, credit is so poor now we are struggling!!!
i do live with my partner, have 3 children, he works full time i work part time, but we never seem to have any money!!!
going to use feb as a trial month as it is the month that is the smallest, so the most basic a month we have.
here goes ......

thanks october starter - just reread my post and realised it may have sounded harsh about being for me, anyone please feel free to comment, i think i take it more seriously when written down.
have updated my signiture, this is not the end of it, but what i can sort now, although i have bad debt, we have massive outgoings too, and no emergeny (or any for tht fact) savings at all!!!!! with 3 children, this is not acceptable as we always struggle to even afford school shoes and bits when they pop up.
i have started to reduce my grocery budget, have called virg!n to reduce package, and as we rent appliances from hughe$ we have down graded some items in the hope that once we have savings we can buy new appliances to free up some of this money too.
feel like im waffling so will go now - turning 30 tomorrow and think it has made me realise i need to start acting like a grown up!!!Brother 10/400 Account 1 £0/1131.21 (without interest:() account 2 £0/ £1200 (without interest)

Hey thisisit.
Normally read but not comment or anything but just thought I would say that I had the same sort of thing... realised I was very almost 30 and had this panic of "uh-oh. i am an adult now" which resulted in my Light Bulb Moment.
Am now almost 31, am still as immature as ever but I have a much better grasp of finances.
I want to buy a holiday but I now try to save up for it first. See... much more adulty.
Wish you the best of luck and don't worry about becoming an adult at 30. The main thing is that you have now realised that you are in debt and want to do something about it.

thanks stewby and 3wisemonks - tomorrow is the day i am sitting down and going through everything - funny how a "big" (i keep being told 30 is nothing) birthday puts things into prespective - even though i have 3 children and me and oh have been together nearly 11 years, suddenly not being in my twenties no more has scared me - mabe silly to some but to me its real!!!
also stewby - i loved you commented as i have been reading your diary!!! enjoy the holiday to rome!!!Brother 10/400 Account 1 £0/1131.21 (without interest:() account 2 £0/ £1200 (without interest)
