If you lied on the application form about your mortgage circumstances that's mortgage fraud. So you should consider your options carefully. As the saying goes "people who live in glass houses shouldn't through stones".

If you could have proved you could afford it you wouldn't have had to self-cert?

I have great sympathy for any one with financial difficulties, but I am afraid you need to look elsewhere for a solution as this mis-sold claim is going no where.
