End date V Newly added

I caught up on the main board at the beginning of this month .. :j .. first time ever.
I am now comping from newly added.
However I've noticed my wins seem down a lot from last years monthly totals.
Is is just because this is a particularly slow month ? There do seem to be less in IWIWIW.
Has anyone else switched one way or the other and noticed a difference ?

Slow months plus the luck element I'd say.

How you sort the board should not really make a jot of difference to your win ratio.
So long as you enter the comp the chance of winning remains the same.

Definitely a slow month, drawn a complete blank so far. And I think there are a lot less about at he moment and a lot more people entering as well.

Maybe if everyone and their dog didnt have a bit part in the daily rag every time they won a soddin prize...... lol

I think it's a new years resolution thing too. Loads of people start in January thinking they are about to win mountains of valuable prizes, then by March realise all they have won is tickets to a craft show they have no intention of going to so give up.

Last year i went from clearing the boards (most recent) to end date and found my wins stayed the same.

I still end date and have had 2 wins so far this month.

When I used to use Loquax main site I was an end date comper and had great success with wins.

I then moved here and I go through the forums every day and bookmark comps into folders which I keep in date order and then go through them when I have time and am usually well in advance so don't do as many end date comps nowadays. For example yesterday I was entering comps right up to end date of 10th Feb. I have to say I don't seem to be having a great deal of success as prizes are very thin on the ground.

I am also aware of some wins where I know I entered last minute so personally do believe for me, I have had more success as an end date comper.

Thanks. I'm only a month into newly added and am thinking the same.

I had won several comps when end dating that I had only entered the previous day.

Almost everything I have ever won has been from end date entry as I'm very short of time and usually finish entering the night before or even on the day. The most ahead I've ever been is a couple of days! I don't think I could ever catch up!
