Which Juicer?

I have a vitamix. I was fortunate as I won it in a competition.
It is fantastic, like a bullet it takes the whole fruit so no waste. Simple to clean, just use hot water and a little washing up liquid and turn it on.
As well as making fabulous green smoothies I use it to make sorbet but also delicious hot soup.0 -
I've got a vitamix too. It's amazing. I've had it nearly 3 years and use it every day.0

Sorry to take this OT, but those with a Vitamix, can you do pastry in them? I love my Magimix for this (and lots of other things), but it is very old and the switch is playing up, I have wondered about getting a Vitamix when it dies. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. We got given one with a tap at the bottom. Was so fiddly to clean we only ever used it twice then gave it away.
Agreed. I had one but it was more effort to juice fruit in terms of cleaning up afterwards, than just eat the fruit and throw the peel into the compost.
The taps get sticky if you leave them for more than five minutes unwashed. I found juicing just way too much hassle. The person who invents a self cleaning juicer has my money!0 -

Just googled it and you can. I have a kmix which I use for pastry so I haven't ever done it.
So far I have been really pleased with everything it does.0 -
I have a Philips 1861 and I have bern using it almost daily for 2 years and it's great. Easy to take apart & clean very quickly. There is a newer version 1863 out now which is fairly cheap.
I also have a cheap blender for smoothies as I didntknow how long I'd use it- I got it from currys sale and its still going strong. I am looking at a vitamix when it goes as I know I'll use it.
I use both rummer together and separately, something's ill juice then add to blender and add avocado etc just depends what you are making. I lie the freedom of both. I didn't do a big out lay first but they are both great and lasted well and easy to clean. Not all fibre is lost when juicing so don't let that put you off completely. Good luck

I have a Ninja, and after spending what felt like weeks researching the best blender/smoothie maker it turned out best in nearly every review. The vitamix was also highly recommended but this can be quite pricey. When I looked at the reviews for the nutribullet, there had been quite a lot of people complaining of the blades breaking. Also, the bullet doesn't crush ice, whereas the ninja does.
I have used my ninja everyday (sometimes even 2/3 times a day) since buying it, and it is definitely worth the price! We have the NutriNinja MegaKitchen, and it's brilliant as you can make almost everything in the different bits that come with it. I have never used the bullet, but very glad I went with the ninja.
Hope this helps!0 -
I have the breville blend active. Price is good and today's smoothie was natural yoghurt, frozen blueberries and strawberries, kale, milk and granola it managed this fine and it was yum0

Just a wee update to let you know that I threw caution to the wind and bought both a nutri ninja and a juicer :j
Now I am off to the library to get some books and recipe ideas!Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
Rummer google green smoothie, there are loads of fantastic recipes which combine veg and fruit. Kale, spinach and celery are the major "greens".
I tend to prep my fruit and mix it with veg and freeze it in batches. then I use this as 2/3 of my smoothie with 1/3 fresh (usually a whole of a fruit) and my liquid base. It means I never waste fruit/veg and it is nice and cold.0
