Surprise Wins

Hi guys,

How often do you folks not realise you've won until it lands on your doormat? I'm very new to comping (2-3 weeks) and not had this happen yet, but reading IWIWIW it seems to be quite often.
2015 Winnings:

£250 Garden Centre Voucher
London car show tickets
Odeon Movie Tickets
Tickets to Dara

I think three times in three years for me. Two were white envelopes, which is how magazines such as chat/bella/women's own actually notify you anyway, and one was a surprise delivery of items from a mother and baby website.

Oh and then there's the odd procter and gamble products that arrive from Super Savvy Me comps - stuff like air freshener, shampoos etc.
Thank you to everyone who posts on the competitions boards. You all rock!

Two of my four biggest wins came totally out of the blue: a £250 H&M voucher from GQ magazine, and a Palmers toiletry goodie bag with £200 Red Letter Day vouchers, which came from Beauty Pages. Absolutely no prior warning of the wins, they just arrived! :D
I have also had several smaller wins just turn up unannounced - most recently a 20-flavour Jelly Belly box, and I've also had stuff like makeup and shampoo just arrive - but it doesn't happen that often. I wish it would happen more though, it's totally my favourite type of win!!

It happens to me a lot too. Best one was one of my nicest wins: An M&S hamper with Microsoft goodies included. Not only was there no notification, but it didn't even include where it came from.

  • I would also say about half of my wins I know nothing about until it appears with the postie! In some ways, I love that more, the surprise of not knowing what is in something is exciting :)
I just enter and forget...hoping to win something! :)

I've had a few like this, mostly cheques.
Most recently £100 cheque from a radio station. :)
