They should have taken some of that 1.8 billion they just borrowed and put it into this.

It should have been built when the Westlink was upgraded, instead we got the 'Westicles'. But then, what would I know?

The project looks good but needs further investment for it to work properly ie - upgrading of the Sydenham Bypass to three lanes in each direction to cope with the volume of traffic at peak times. The faster you feed traffic to it from the Westlink & M3 the worse it will become and backup on to the Westlink.

I don't think there's any room for 3 lanes on the bypass - Victoria Park, the airport, the industrial estate, the houses, the football pitch... and there are no plans. Check this excellent site for all your NI Roads needs... http://wesleyjohnston.com/roads/

There's any amount of room as land can be vested where required from Victoria Park, airport or wherever else but it needs to happen urgently. It's been in planning for many years, now apparently in phase 3 of process http://www.drdni.gov.uk/index/roadimprovements/schemes/a2_sydenham_bypass.htm

Ah that's excellent - I knew about them wanting to add that junction, but I didn't know there would be 3 lanes too.
With the development that's gone on in 'Titanic Quarter' - going way back to the Odyssey, we need better inrastructure round here, including the nearby M3, M2, Westlink linkup.
Carnage any time there's an event at the Odyssey.
You talk about vesting like it's a straighforward matter - it ain't - just wait till they try to remove parkland...
