Do you have a Euro bank account to put the results in, or are you planning on taking them in cash?

Be warned that the 'international money transfer' guide linked from there seems flawed: most of the FX brokers quoted only publish the market (fee-free) rates on their websites - you only discover the true rates when you go to make an order. There's no evidence that MSE has done research on real transactions, so take the comments about 'strong exchange rate' with a pinch of salt.
The P2P brokers (CurrencyFair, TransferWise) were previously good because they took no cut of the exchange rate just a fixed fee - however now they do (0.35-0.5%). Still better than banks though, and possibly better than conventional FX brokers.0 -

I don't know where you live. I live in Edinburgh but go to London fairly frequently. I use Thomas Exchange Global in London (Cannon Street or The Strand) as I find them very competitive. I pick up at the counter but they may do an online service.

Also, this list was circulated earlier:

Please does anyone know if I can reasonably expect a conveyancing solicitor to transfer my UK house sale funds directly to my overseas Euro bank account by Transferwise without it passing through my UK bank? (To eliminate one extra bank from the loop). Thanks0

Your solicitor is paid by you, therefore should do exactly what you ask him to do, providing it's not illegal in which case they are best placed to tell you so!The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0
