Can I get some advice please. I am a landlord and I have been getting annual gas safe tests carried out. I am about to register for the new landlord registration scheme which becomes mandatory next month and am confused as to whether I must also have an annual electrical test or not. From what I have read it may only be every 5 years and even then it may not be mandatory?

at the moment you dont need one .
Dont be surprised if all that changes now the LL registration is in place."Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many"0 -
Are there any significant benefits to having LLs registered and how often will this happen?0

I can see the benefits of the scheme but as always it's the business landlords who get off lightly..
the £70 Fee is not per property but per person on the deed so if a family of 4 bought an investment property to rent out, to register on the LL register would cost £280 as each person on the deed has to register... On the other hand a landlord with 20 houses with their name (or their company name) the only one on the deeds then they only have to pay £70 for the one registration.....
Would have thought it should have been "per property" rather than per name...0
