Almost there!

Hi Guys,

Little bit of advise if possible.

I am due to complete this week on chain free unoccupied house and have requested that my solicitor do a same day exchange and completion. Can anyone with a bit of experience explain the pro's and Con's of this option? Sooo many mixed reactions on the net about this but would like to hear from the experts!

Thanks!

As this is pretty much mortgage neutral, you'll find the mortgage brokers on here probably won't have much to offer.

Once the offer is issued, the solicitor handles everything from there, including exchange of contracts and completion.

You'll get more opinions on HBR&S, but that will be "novices" from a personal perspective unless Richard Webster the resident solicitor is around.

I've done it twice, as long as you've got everything organised in relation to packing, moving, cleaning etc I can't see why you wouldn't. It seems pointless once you've exchanged to hang around for a week or so for the sake of it. If it's a long chain it may be different, but both times I've been in the same position as you. Good luck.
  • Same position as you house empty and exchange and completion due this Friday. I have read mixed reviews but as the property is empty hoping it is going to be ok. Good luck Friday let's hope it is good for both of us
  • Thanks for the reply guys...

TBH, i thought the same as you both, why bother waiting when you can do it straight away! I really hope it goes well for you Joesmith2015...i'll be due a drink once all this is done!
