Buying a bed from Dreams

Hello everyone,

Was on the cusp of buying a bed from Dreams, reduced from about 1500 to £900 in the January sale which ends tonight.

However, discovered that Which Magazine gave the mattress a not particularly brilliant rating - so I'm in two minds now.

Then again, with the discount of nearly 50% perhaps I'm getting a bargain. If Which are saying this mattress is not particularly great for this price range, then if I'm getting it much cheaper then perhaps it is actually very good for the new price range.

It's an ottoman bed and the mattress has 1200 coiled springs.

Anyway, would welcome your views on the following:

- Are these sales a bit of a con? perhaps the original price was just a rip off anyway?
- Is January the best time for furniture prices? I'm worried about missing the boat...
-Anyone got a view on the quality and value of Dreams beds?
- Which is the best place for getting beds value wise?

Thank you in advance!
Adam

For that value, you should be able to find better pocket sprung, instead of open coil mattress...

You should be able to find Ottoman Beds at £200 - 300.
With £600, you have plenty of choice for mattress...

Sorry to be harsh but are these sales a con?

    Really?

    Answer is yes and no.

Not a con: The product will have been on sale at the higher price but always was going to be marked down.

Yes it's a con: Could you go to work for the next month and receive only 50% of your pay? Sales are designed to give the customer a reason to purchase, it's a mind game just to extract money from you.

No company can survive offering such discounts in the real world! Unless of course the product was massively over priced to begin with.

Look were Dreams are located, prime spots with massive over heads to pay for. Who pays for those over heads? The end customer, you.

Stick to small local independent shops if you want proper sound advice. If you want best value for money then purchase online.
