Ceridwen - non brewed condiment is just acetic acid made in a factory, my OH used to work at one at BP Satlend nr Hull - They just add caramel colour to make it 'chip shop' vinegar brown. It is the acid which does the work but you may be better off getting the acetic acid from a chemist.0

:rotfl: I already had to take vingar out of my treat budget - it wasn't food as it was for cleaning... man 48p... how sad am I debating what budget it needs to come out of... IT'S OFFICIAL! I'VE LOST MY MARBLES!!!! :rotfl:
White vinegar is a problem one for budgeting. If it is wholly for cleaning, it's "Household: Consumables". If it is wholly for pickling eggs, its "Food & Drink: Groceries". But what if you use part of a bottle for both?
PS. Non-brewed condiment is, as above, acetic acid (ie. vinegar) but not made as a by-product of alcohol production. It came about as a result of the Temperance movement's obvious issues with the demon drink. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0
