Refunds query

Hi,
I bought some shoes in the sale last week and they have broken already! I wouldn't usually hesitate to take them back to the shop and get a refund but I've already thrown the box they came in away. I still have my receipt though.
Does anyone know whether you need the packaging (in this case the shoe box) to get a refund.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

You won't need the box, just take them along with your receipt.0
