Interesting that we had a call on a similar situation last week where the client had told the lender (a different lender) that he was buying with his new partner and wished to let the property out. The lender declined the request.
We know from experience that had the reason been moving to a new area for a fixed period, consent would have been granted.I am a Mortgage Broker

Looking at this from a lenders point of view - you buy a house on a residential mortgage and then want ctl within 6 months. I can see why this would look dodgy.
