Hi there
Iv always worked but went off sick and also separated from my husband, we have a house together, I eventually left my job as it's very pressurised, iv been looking for employment and I'm very confident I will get something soon, what I need to know is I have savings and would like to put a deposit down for apartment and get a small mortgage. My husband is still going to keep the house going by himself, can I still get a mortgage if I'm temporary unemployed? I'm 44 yrs old
Thanks guys

No.
How were you planning on making the monthly payments without income from employment?
You will need to be in employment (some lenders require a minimum length). Get a job and then look to buy.0 -
Would you lend somebody thousands of pounds knowing they have no income?0

The answer is no.
The thought occurs though, is your husband going to buy you out of your share of the house? Would this be enough to buy a flat if you put your savings in too?0 -
Is your current property mortgaged? Will your husband be able to get a mortgage on his own allowing you to come off the existing mortgage.0
