  • Good Afternoon everyone, we've had such a lovely weekend with Zebra and co and he has two more teeth, so 8 altogether and is definitely getting better at biting and chewing his food. He's a good little trencherman too and puts impressive amounts away at every mealtime. We had a nice trip out yesterday to Mottisfont Abbey which is a national trust property on the river Test and it was a lovely walk but very cold in the wind so we stayed for less time than I'd have liked. He Who Knows and I will visit again in the spring when the weather is a little kinder. Docky was very good with the baby this time and didn't keep trying to lick him which made life much less fraught. They've just left now after brunch and I'm off in a few minuted to walk that hound and then come back for a cuppa and sit by the stove with a book, it's too cold for anything outside today.

Hope you all have a lovely day, Lyn xxx.

Mr LW and I bought a couple of patio planters yesterday. We carefully checked the shelf they were stacked on at the garden centre, it said £3.49 each. When we got to the till, the assistant scanned the barcodes and said "£13.98 please". Seems that they're normally £6.99, and are supposed to be in the 50% off sale, but someone "forgot" to update the information on their computer system. Mr LW was all about "oh we must have read the shelf wrong" and was going to pay up, but I made a fuss, and we got them for the price shown on the shelf. Just shows though, you need your wits about you! If they'd said we were wrong and we had to pay the full price, I'd have said "keep 'em" and gone somewhere else, just on principle.:D
    Stroppy? Moi?? :rotfl:

  • Camelot (((Hugs))) I hope you feel better soon xx

I am just coming out of the otherside of the cough virus, two weeks and it drained me, all I wanted to do was sleep but couldn't because everytime I laid down , cough, cough, cough.

It was a lovely bright start to the day and we all sat doing the rspb birdwatch for an hour, very relaxing at 8am then we decided to spend the morning at the zoo which was fun, glad we are home now though as the weather is looking very cloudy.

Dinner is chicken, with kale, carrots, parsnips y puds and roasties followed by proper rice pud with lots of nutmeg.

Just chilling waiting for everything to be ready and then while DH and DS wash up I am going to watch Real Steel on BB2 at 6pm, brilliant film and the bonus is Hugh Jackman :D

  • LW I take it that was a certain big name nursery in Bletchley :(
Honestly these days you have to watch all of the shops like a hawk and watch out with special offers that are not on the system

    Afternoon all,

Did the Aldi shop and bought a carpet cleaner, well DH decided to. I have a Hoover Aquajet which is my regular vacuum but can also be used as a carpet cleaner. I told DH we didn't need one but he said it would save getting mine dirty???!!! We are going to try and clean the lounge carpet to save having to buy a new one. As we have the new suite on order and the lounge furniture will be the other way around, the grubbiness and general flattening of the pile will show against the original bit that has thus far been hidden under furniture. If we decide to buy a new carpet because the house is open plan it means paying out for the stairs and two landings as well. It's a pity they don't make the carpet anymore.

Chorizo mix up for dinner. :)

    Evening all,

just catching up on your posts. Mrs LW. So glad you had a lovely time with Zebra and family. I saw my Grandson on Saturday morning too. Pity he wailed. He thought I was going to take him away from his Mummy. When he was sure I wasn't he was ok.

Did the usual trip to the shopping centre this afternoon via the car showroom.

Yesterday we showed a little support to our usual Motorbike shop which opened its doors to its new premises yesterday. Although hubby doesn't have the bike any more I still miss riding pillion and the social side of biking. So many memories.:)

Oh well, I'd best get on with the packed lunches before I get too tired to do them.

Saving my onwards and forwards till tomorrow,

    Sleep well my friends.
