Self Assessment 2013/14 online Business Miles

Sorry if this is a FAQ but I can't find a recent response to similar questions:

I want to claim relief on business miles in a personal car.
I know the calculation but I just cant work out where to enter the value in the online return form.

Is this sufficient information?

You should be able to find this in the expenses part of the employment pages. Just enter the amount based on the claim per mile less any element reimbursed by your employer.

Note: win, draw or lose (not 'loose' - opposite of tight!)
  • all I have in the section are:

    Company Cares and Vans
Fuel for company cars and cans
    Private mediacl and dental expenses
Vouchers, CC and excess mileage allowance
Goods andother assets provided by employer
    Accommodation provided by employer
    Other benefits
Expenses Payments received and balancing charges

None seem to have the desired results :(

You have ticked the wrong box!!!

    Say yes to :

Do you wish to claim any employment expenses or capital allowances while working for ,,,?

    Not:

Have you received any taxable benefits and expense payments from ...?

    A subtle difference...
