I have posted on here before about this tooth but can't find the old threads.
Back story:
Had root canal done on my upper left lateral tooth in about 1990. Tooth was all fine up until about three years ago when I noticed a sensation in my gum above the tooth (no pain), visited dentist who said there was an infection that couldn't be treated with antibiotics (as they couldn't reach it) and was put on the waiting list for an apicoectomy. In January 2013 I duly had the procedure. All went well. A few months later I could feel the sensation again. My dentist has kept an eye on it (via xray) and has said the infection is less than it was before the apicoectomy but it is still there, I went for another check on it and had another xray in about October and it hasn't increased.
I happened to watch something on TV which has made me wonder if it is safe to have this infection present in my body. I did the wrong thing and googled it and am now wondering if the blocked left ear and left side of my nose I keep getting could be related to this, although I have no pain just the sensation.
I need my mind putting at rest. My dentist (which wasn't the one who did either of the procedures) doesn't seem to think it's an issue.

For what it's worth I agree with your dentist, but it worries me you would trust a random strangers opinion on the Internet rather than the professional who is in charge of your oral health, can see you and your x Rays and has studied many years to become an expert in oral medicine.0

It was watching 'The Tudor hidden dangers' programme (I know I sound barking mad) but it sparked my fears as the bone specialist said that teeth are very dangerous. Infections spreading etc
Actually as I write this I can see how looney I must look :rotfl: but things like this do sometimes happen even though it is probably statistically low.0

I saw that too though i was somewhat distracted from the periodontal dilemmas of the expiring Tudors by the rather mischievous Ms Worsley..Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0

Interestingly in the UK pre 19th century cause of death was noted as a narrative and by far the number cause cause mentioned was problems with teeth. This doesn't mean most people died because of tooth problems but that most people died with tooth problems.0
