My son forced a hm bone dry but tasty muffin down last night, bless him but did say that my cookies are always delicious!

I can't make muffins either. I do know how, in that you don't really mix the ingredients. I quick stir around is all they need. But they never come out right so I gave up.

Biscuits are hard to get right as well, took me ages to realise that they still appear raw when they are done and they harden as they cool. I'm sure I've had cookies in the oven for half an hour before :rotfl:

As you say, you can get away with far more with cooking.

I'm another one who can't do muffins, no matter which recipe I try. I can do buns and cakes, but not flippin muffins. Always end up dry or wet.

(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...

  • The best bread dough is on the wet side, you just have to keep kneading until it comes into a lovely silky dough.

Even when there's more dough on your hands than the worktop?
  • Interesting about the muffins!

I tried breakfast bars yesterday - sort of a flapjack. "Cannae go wrong wi' a flapjack" they say. Hmmm. Delicious - all fruity and tasty but they were rock hard! I had to put a disclaimer on the box for my poor work chums "help yourself but I'm not paying for dental treatment".

    Oh dear.
  • I'm a good cook but anything sweet, forget it. I can make pancakes and protein bars for exercise. Thats it. I could possibly make a half decent cheesecake, but dont ask me to bake a cake. I once saw a pic my brother had on his facebook of a choc cake he made, I was like !!!!!!!!!!!

Envy :) Fortunately I dont really have a sweet tooth, but I get what its like to be able to cook decent meals and be a rubbish baker.
