I don't want you to make sacrifices Mr Acorn. I want you to live and dance and sing and enjoy the precious gift that is your youth without having to worry about fixed or variable rates, without having to subsume your identity into a financial system that wants only to masticate you.

Beneath your bean counting exterior don't you want that for yourself? Just a little bit.

But they are the sacrifices most of us boomers made to buy our properties.

Listen Pops. An expert on anti immigration right wing politics you may be. A doyen of the plight affecting the youth of today you are not.

Before you go around castigating the young for failing to have the benefit of your opportunities spend a moment in their moccasins.

Why don't you go and spend a few nights helping out in a homeless shelter, or volunteer to drive the minubus in a youth group.

You would get a whole new perspective on life.

And then you might not be so mean.

I am full of praise for young people and know most of them take full advantage of the fantastic opportunities that are available to them in this country.

Sadly most (but not all ) homeless people are suffering from social and mental problems that complicate their situation : obviously you wouldn't have cause to know that.

Youth groups owning a mini bus is a wonderful example of the opportunities that the young have these days and I'm very glad they make full use of it.

Sadly you have missed out on so much but until you are wiling to accept help, little can be done for you.

However the young of other countries know what wonderful opportunities are available here which is why they come in their hundreds of thousands each year.

One takes consolation that your lose is their gain.

Well I'm off to Mexico in 4 months, considering the Bahamas or Thailand for Jan 2016? It's good being able to count beans, especially when you can spend them in the Caribbean :D

You want the youth to sing and dance and not make any sacrifices on the way to home ownership eh? I'm afaird you are a million miles away from reality.

The youth have always had to work hard for success, it was never handed to them.

Even when property prices were low interest rates were high so servicing a mortgage has never been a walk in the park.

But more importantly, your attitude stinks. Do you fear hard work? Is there something in your DNA which says you cannot possibly make sacrifices?

Scarifices are good, they make you appreciate and cherish your successes that bit more.

I'd rather have a society of grafters who do make sacrifices rather than !!!!less layabouts who have spent their secondary education learning the definition of 'entitlement culture'.

What do you want to know about tomorrow?

You obviously know little about the past. Quoting ONS statistics in isolation is all very well. Understanding history with reflection will enable you to understand why events happened. Understanding current policies may then give you a different view of the future.

    the future is uncertain

the past will not be repeated

understanding current policies is only of limited use as the future determines the past

Dude, get off your high horse. You know sod all about me and I wouldn't jump to conclusions so quickly.

I have an agenda against HPC.co.uk and I will use ONS figures all day long and in whatever context I like if it serves that agenda.

I like rising property prices and clearly you don't so you should probably put me on ignore.

If you don't know your facts don't bother posting then. Sounds as if you need help with attitude and have a huge chip on your shoulder. Particularly if someone does to disagree with you.

I won't put you on ignore as I'm interested to see what other rubbish you spout while standing on your soap box.

PS Immigrants to the UK have arrived over many years. So you are not unique. My family included.

What you are doing is shooting the messenger because you don't like the message. Bringing in immigration out of nowhere is proof of that.
