limitation act 1980 only for 6 years?

Hi,

I've raised an issue with a company which I am currently disputing with. They refuse to refund my.money as I've exceeded 6 years, quoting the limitation.act 1980. I haven't realised about the issue I'm deaputing on till last year December. Speaking to a lawyer briefly, he said I have a further 3 years after recognising loss/damage. What's this act called please?

Yes really depends on the type of claim and when could have reasonably discovered it. The Limitation Act has various time limits depending on circumstances. Its not always a straight 6 years.

"Facism arrives as your friend. It will restore your honour, make you feel proud, protect your house, give you a job, clean up the neighbourhood, remind you of how great you once were, clear out the venal and the corrupt, remove anything you feel is unlike you... [it] doesn't walk in saying, "our programme means militias, mass imprisonments, transportations, war and persecution."
  • Is it within the limitation act 1980? Thanks for the reply
  • Thank you. So, it doesn't have a title such as consumer act, etc etc. I'm not completely acknowledged on law. I assumed they all had a title followed by 'act' and a date of such law was informed.

How does "Limitation Act 1980" not follow that pattern? Haha
Credit 'Score' - Don't buy the credit 'score' that Experian, Equifax and Noddle want to sell you. It's an arbitrary number that means nothing when it comes to applying for credit.
