    Virgin Media - big price rises are coming in from 1st Feb, most can get out of existing contracts or renegotiate if you act now. Call 150 then 1,1,5,3 for Thinking of Leaving during daytime. They may offer you an even better deal to offset the rise (they did for me :cool:). You may also consider Line Rental Saver £144 for 12 months which is going up to £164 from 1st Feb (or £16.99 if you pay monthly :eek:). From various forums most people get the better deals by actually cancelling and waiting for a call from the retentions team so don't get Line Rental Saver until you have a deal on the rest of your package and don't deal immediately (see some of the other threads to see what is possible).

    i always call up to get a reduction when they send me the price rise letter.
    Just got off the phone to them, did not even have to haggle, I paid the line rental up front and got BB & weekend calls for £8.50 a month, pricelocked for 18 month.

    Sorry had early night last night and never replied. I hoped the wee weirdo had gone too but it was alicia. I know she was going for barbie doll but I think all that anaesthetic has made her more space cadet. And I don't mean captain scarlet ! :rotfl:

    Well I guess it all be over soon.

    Spend minimum of 500 Nectar points in Argos & get 1000 back
    This is more of a "heads up" or should I say a check your Nectar email address "deal". Im not trying to make this out to be anything it isn't, but it's a free £5 to spend in Argos (if you get the email). If you spend a minimum of 500 points, which is £2.50, they will refund you 1000 points, which is worth £5. So you could spend 1000 points (£5) and get it back on your Nectar points total by next month.

    Check your emails anyway :)

    * Terms and conditions
    1. Offer only valid if you received this email from Nectar.
    2. Offer valid between Monday 8 December and Wednesday 24 December 2014 (the "Offer Period").
    3. To qualify for this offer you must: i. Click the 'Shop now' button, and ii. Make a redemption at Argos by redeeming at least 500 Nectar points with Argos during the Offer Period.
    4. Qualifying Collectors will receive 1,000 points back into their account by Wednesday 28 January 2014.
    5. This Offer applies only to the first Argos redemption of 500 points or more made during the Offer Period.
    6. Offer is non-transferable. There is no cash alternative.
    7. For full Argos terms and conditions visit http://www.nectar.com/spend/argos.points

    ETA: Hmmmm :think: I just noticed the bit I've made bold
    Anyone who did this... we should be getting the 1000 nectar points any day now.

    Well done, always good to negotiate with them. You almost think they rely on most people not bothering so go for higher rises each time. Price locked for 18 months? I wouldn't hold your breath, they have had two rises in less than a year and "lifetime" deals that last months! For me rises equated to around 20% this year :eek: before phoning to cancel and getting a better deal. So much for low inflation ... but at least I had a "free" speed upgrade last year (not at all related to the price rise...).

    The only saving grace is you can phone to renegotiate or cancel.
