On another note received a very strange letter on Thursday from my building society.
It said as a gesture of goodwill they have cleared my mortgage account and closed it. There was over £39k outstanding. It also says they will send my deeds in 14 days if they have them ( they dont they sent them back years ago) I nearly fainted. Think its a mistake but we shall see!!!
Careful in case it is a phishing letter, someone trying to get details from you for identity fraud. Seems odd because:
a) why would they?
b) deeds are held by Land Registry electronically these days.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Good afternoon my darlings,
Snap, so very sorry to hear about the situation, I've been there with my own Mum. Sometimes it really is for the best for them to let go, but it's a horrible thing to go through. Sending you both lots of love. xx :A
I've been following the Alan Barnes story with interest today, since I saw it on BBC Breakfast this morning. http://www.gofundme.com/l0dt9o
When I first went to the website they'd collected over £50k, it's now over £133k and going up every time I look. People are wonderful and I hope things work out well for him. I also trust they'll catch the low life who mugged him.
Tweets and SFSB, your weight loss is inspirational. I'll have a go myself when the weather gets better, I find winter tough enough to get through nowadays.
Oh Lutzi it was at 60k this morning but now over 153. People are so kind
Im in tears at the kindness :A0 -
Well - it is great news!:D:D
It is a good comp. - a complete 100% perfect, non-glitchy comparison vs Morries. Tell you, I'm only liking the accurate transactions on this thread that I personally carry out, as my "inacurate" ones have been against my favour:(:rotfl:.
So, unless you're shopping in Northern Ireland and don't have any M comp., these are all good to go (in England, technically can't guarantee that Scotland has the same info.):
9 items (8 different) on your bill qualify for comparisonMorrisons

1 x ASDA Smartprice Fish Fingers (10 per pack - 250g)£0.60£0.60
Comparison total£16.31£8.93
The Quorns, sadly, are not on 3 for £5 but are straight £1.99 each. We needed them/wanted them, and too hard to wait for a glitch.
Pleased about the Chicken Style Burgers as they aren't showing on m.com (and therefore not on msm) - wonder how I'd ever know?:rotfl:
I wanted the Can't Believe light spread, partly to spread my risk, but can you believe my store was completely and totally out of stock of it? Nor can I - but apparently they are! So, I can't confirm whether or not the Light version is working. It probably is, but what made me a bit shy of these (whether Original or Light) was that one of my M stores had full price SELs on them both:eek:. Fortunately, this had no relevance at least not on the one I've bought. Most stores, I hope, are showing £1.37.
And, I even managed to get £1.62 for the 24 Crispy Dippers on both the two comps I did vs M. One was weeks ago, but gather they have been returning £3.25 in the interim:(. Give the M stores that have lost their half price SELs plenty of time to put them back up I thought! Actually, I've done three shops with those on - one, weeks ago, was a shop with just one on to 'test the water' then, when that worked, I immediately went out and went mad on them - we get through absolutely loads of these and they are at their cheapest non-glitch price of any of the pack sizes (I know someone on CC managed to do somewhat better than me; sadly I don't have lower prices in my A store).
The offer on the 24 Crispy Dippers is due to expire in M on Monday, don't want to rush you but it is really last chance for a while it seems! They are a January offer in M - and their offer doesn't get much more than a day into February:(.
But, anyway, I'm pleased about the whole comparison. Must remember to pick up smaller bananas next time, so I can have vs 1p cheaper comp. at M:rotfl:.
I think I did a 'New Year's' resolution to have no failures at all on any comps I do this year vs Morries(:rotfl:). So far, I'm not doing too bad (...:eek:best not tempt fate), only N/A I had was the Diced Swede a few weeks back - but I knew they weren't available over those weeks in M (they are back now, so should work): I had to pick one up as a replacement as my A store didn't have Carrot/Swede:(, so I knew they would, back then, be N/A so that was a total correct comp. (I sometimes like those) and no failure.
I've managed one month of totally successful Morries comps. (but then again that has meant going far more carefully and doing fewer of them). Watch my next be a disaster:rotfl: (I hope not:D).
See - 10% cheaper. Guaranteed!:D:D:rotfl:0 -
There is also a 54year old jazz saxophonist called Alan Barnes who must be wondering why his website is getting so many hits today. Might do his career a bit of good.Hope is not a strategy.0
