Website template / blog template design help?

Long shot, but I don't suppose you lovely guys could give me some tips or suggestions on some nice layouts could you? I can write my content no probs (haven't gotten any up yet) and I can get my promotion done... but the biggest hurdle I'm facing is trying to find a layout that looks half decent.. everything looks either plain, boring or kiddish..

Do you guys have particular layouts or templates that work better than others, or just some good ones to get started? Ive tried making my own.. and joomla / wordpress.. but I guess I'm struggling trying to customise them to not look so bad..

If anyone could throw me some tips / suggestions id be ever so grateful, if you cant divulge that info then I do understand

What exactly are you looking for? Wordpress have loads of themes/templates. Some aren't as good, but there are loads that look good and work fine. There should be something on there! Some you can't customise as much, but many have different options (usually just a case of selecting options from a drop down menu) and there are ones where you can easily add your own banner to the template (just by uploading an image file).
