Gutted about the company starting with G ending in W not doing burger place anymore - does anyone know where to go for the burger place now?? X

The replacement outfit have just increased their initial (derisory) rate which barely covered the cost of the product purchase, never mind your time and the multiple product pictures. New emails have gone out with a 71% increase in the fee, so clearly this was one task that wasn't going anywhere unless they did something about it.

Sadly, it's still less than the fee the original company paid me to visit so until they put on another 25% I'm not bothering with them.

It did say something about this letter in the write up blurb but still no way would I bother.

MF want photos uploaded at I think a max size of 2MB. My phone won't take them at less than 12MP which is often bigger. I've been resizing them on my computer with Paint, but it's a hassle. Anyone got a better solution? Maybe there's an app for it, I think it would certainly be better to do it on the phone than on my PC.

I never resize the photos for MF. They are always over the stipulated size and nobody says anything.

Yes I always ignored it and it wasn't a problem. But recently it has become one some of the time and my photos are getting refused. I've now found an app called "Low Resolution Camera" and this does the trick. A lot quicker to upload photos too. Seems bizarre that there should be a need for an app like this, but there you go.

I cannot say I agree with you - I have worked for this company the longest, back to when Australian handlers gave way to the Malaysian ones. As for the handlers agreeing a fee then not passing it on.... nonsense. This just comes over as a rant and a libellous one at that. There is a delay in the premium being added true, but the longest I've waited is a day, it is usually an hour.

One one hand you say they skim your promised fee because they get paid a 'tiny wage' - so what use is Sterling to them? Or you know they can change currencies and pocket it? Little wonder they closed your account with accusations like that flying around.

I am being asked to do more by phone, and we negotiate, but in the last 6 months they cannot agree to pay what I was paid for the same job previously. No scam, just an inability to cover costs that previously were not a problem. They've lost the Golden Arches which no doubt put the pressure on generally - but to say the things you have without proof is shocking as it is not my experience and contacting a client directly oversteps your boundaries as a contractor.

Have you been paid the extra amounts negotiated by yourself?

I'm struggling to see how an enhanced amount showing on the shop log can be changed back to the original fee without it not being noticed.

    I'm curious........

I know a lot about HGEM and its Mystery Dining (occasionally including related mystery shopping) but very little about the other companies operating in the same field.

It pays as little as £4 for some fast-food 'dines' (less than half the rate that other companies have paid) and now has so many people on its books that it's very difficult to get one of the old-style restaurant meals that used to be the foundation of the business.

It has an online forum, which is heavily censored so that anything vaguely smacking of criticism gets wiped out quickly, and it has a very patronising, condescending attitude towards its diners - many of whom seem to have a strange attitude of gratitude towards it. Even for the crumbs it now throws them!

How do the other companies compare with HGEM?

Yes, I see the rant has disappeared - it was certainly libellous and no doubt why the mods removed it. If You were asking me, yes the negotiated fees were applied a few hours later, and After 6 years, I've never seen a premium being removed after it was applied. Indeed, only once it wasn't correctly updated and I had to point this out, but even the task was showing as completed, the fee was increased to match what was agreed.
