hiya Becca
Yes, I remember you - I wondered what had happened as I haven't seen your yahoo light on for ages!
erm.........another £13 hit the tills yesterday.........oh dear....only £14.68 left...........gulp......
I'm going to do a reccy of the freezer today and see what I have. I've worked out there are 14 more days of food to find. Laying in bed this morning (god, don't I have an exciting bed life! ) I could think of 8 dinners in the freezer so I need to have a look otherwise it might be lentils, aduki beans and mixed broth mix for 6 nights!!
Got plenty of homemade icecream though......:o

This month is really really dragging. It seems to have been mid-month for weeks now........
I've got enough washing powder (well, liquid) for one more wash so I'm going to make sure the machine is well and truly full when it comes to be used.
I'm always at my weakest on a Sunday for some reason. I work from home so in effect don't have a 'weekend' because I work every day. But somehow Sunday just brings out the devil in me spending wise!!

oooh, dear. I think I've got just enough washing up liquid left to do last nights dishes. Not quite enough clothes for a full load in the machine so that will keep for another day.
I had a voicemail left by a former colleague saying she fancied going out for drinks with me this week. I wonder if I can put her off until the 1st........

Hi Keren,
Have only just found your thread and am really impressed at the discipline and self control you have to stick to your £100!
I have had a nightmare of an August (Well July and August) had to travel to the US in a bit of an emergency and overspent on holiday to Scotland.... In fact holiday to Scotland could have been the Maldives, based on what we spent!!
Trying to sort myself out for September, and keep a cash pot of £100 to last for the month.
You are an inspiration........ Going to start my meal plans for September now!

i've posted the boots and there was just over £1 left over fromthe postage I charged so I used that to buy a box of Asda Smart Price washing powder at 50p and some washing up liquid at 79p. :T
I also spent another £3 whilst in there and I'm really struggling to think of how to justify reduced crumpets...:o ....and Nutella......:o
(although I did pick up a couple of the jars of 6p curry sauce some MSE'ers have been discussing to try)
£88.32 spent now........ it's going to be tight.........

welllll.........I'm all spent up..........
I used the last of my money on two Book People Lucky Dip bags. 20 books for £14 so it should sort out a few Christmas presents and definitely Christmas and birthday for my niece.
ah well, I'll keep plugging away. I think the freezer will be empty on the 28th/29th although it still looks quite healthily full although I can't work out why as it should be getting a bit sparse by now!
If I don't have to go over my budget until the 28th/29th and I've managed on the petrol I've bought earlier in the month, put food on the table and I've bought a birthday present and hopefully 2 or 3 Christmas presents I don't think I've done too bad on £100.

Hi Keren - Did you make it?February Grocery Challenge 262.50/250.00 - overspend - oh no!
March GC 0/300.00

Hi Keren,
Just having a bit of a catch up on the thread.
Well Done!!!!0 -
Afraid I didn't quite make it!
I spent £20 at Tesco at the weekend (including 24 huge nectarines for a total of 60p!!!) and bought a tray of chips today and a sausage for the dog whilst out on his walk along the water's edge today........ Whoops.....even more so because I only ate half the tray of chips !! (and no, the dog didn't have them!)
I also got a few things from Asda yesterday for September.
It did make me really pull in the reins though and I haven't gone head long into a spending splurge. I've had a couple of opportunities with month with things on MSE to add to my savings a little bit more and that has re-emphasised my 'new' goal to add as much to my savings in the same fashion that I used to become debt free in the first place.
