Working in NI, mortgage in ROI?

Hi guys, I'm not sure this is really the right place to post but I'm at a complete loss and always get such helpful advice on MSE so please excuse me if I shouldn't be here!
We're currently living on the South coast near Brighton but DH has a job starting in Co Tyrone, NI in March. We've been looking for property over there but have ended up seriously considering a house around 5 miles across the Border in Co Donegal.
Does anyone have ANY knowledge at all how we'd go about getting a mortgage? we have a 40% deposit and could happily afford it in Sterling but I'm assuming it would have to be a Euro transaction, is it even possible that we would get a Euro mortgage having no Euro financials at all?
Any help at all would be vastly appreciated! TIA

Check out the Ulster Bank. They're part of the RBS group but they also have quite a number of branches in the Republic of Ireland which operate under Euro.
Could be a place to start...0 -

Agreed. I was at the opposite end 2 years ago, i.e. I lived in the Republic of Ireland and wanted to move to Northern Ireland.
My mortgage was with Ulster Bank and I followed the standard process except for they required one additional piece of documentation - my Irish Credit Report (Ulster Bank NI couldn't access the Irish one).
Likewise, if you apply to Ulster Bank Ireland, you are likely to be requested for a copy of your UK Credit Report.
Having a 40% deposit will also help signficantly.0
