Costco have some suitcases in store that look fantastic value for hard sided light suitcases.
Unfortunately I had just bought cases before I joined Costco!0 -
I saw an aerolite suitcase in TKMaxx before, they look OK. But I didn't buy it as mine haven't broken yet.

Current having those superlight weight IT suitcase from Argos. They are OK, but don't offer much protection for the stuff inside.
Had a tripp suitcase from debenhams before. But I miss the front pocket as sometime you want to put the stuff in last minutes.
I suggest you either look for 26" or 29".
From my experience, if i fully pack my 26", it would come about 22 kg.0 -
I previously had Sub-0 suitcase, which only lasted a couple of trips, was far too flimsy. Now have gone for the IT Megalite, which is still very lightweight, but much sturdier, and really happy with it.

Light suitcases are fine for hand luggage but won't last long being chucked about by baggage handlers. Either pay more for better quality and expect it to last or buy cheap and cheerful and get a few uses out of it and throw it away.0

I disagree that they are only good for hand luggage, I have a Tripp suitcase which is relatively lightweight and it has so far been on 100+ journeys and still looks brand new.
I have this one but in a different colour as they don't make my colour anymore http://www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10701_10001_36536+T40475_-1I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Competitions Time, Shopping & Freebies boards, Employment, Jobseeking & Training boards If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. I don't think £79 would count as cheap, by cheap, i was thinking more £20-30. If i was spending £80 i would get a 2 wheel Samsonite like this.

At least you can get spare parts of Samsonite.0 -

These are not lightweight...
They are 5kg.
Considering airline usually allow something like 23kg, do you really want to have a 5kg suitcase?0
